SONY last night unveiled its new challenger to the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy — a mobile that works UNDERWATER.

The Xperia Z “superphone” is leak-proof in up to a metre of water for half an hour.
It means it can take pictures underwater or even be used in the shower — making it perfect for those who can’t bear to be parted from their devices.
The super-slim mobile’s high-definition five-inch screen and 13 megapixel camera all beat the iPhone, Galaxy, Nokia Lumia and HTC One. It has a superfast computer and works on the new 4G mobile web network.
And it’s being tipped as the first smartphone suitable for BUILDERS, thanks to its dust and shatter-proof case and screen.

Rivals ... Samsung Galaxy S3 (4.8in screen), HTC One+ (4.7in), Nokia Lumia 920 (4.5in) and iPhone 5 (4in)

But there are limits to its uses. A Sony insider said: “While technically you can use it to make calls underwater I’m not sure how much you’d be able to say or hear. It’s really to let users keep the phone safe around water.”
The Xperia Z, launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, will hit UK stores in March. It will cost around £450.

The Innotruck is the creation of the Technical University of Munich’s Diesel Reloaded project, which aims to ‘demonstrate how paradigm shifts in automotive, energy and information technologies can help to address major societal trends and needs.’
That’s the Innotruck it’s not the next Thunderbird, it’s hi-tech. The wonderful technology used for the energy efficiency.The zero-emissions power-train is governed by a ‘micro smart grid’. A system that manages energy flow from the truck’s batteries, as well as the on-board solar cells, wind turbines and regenerative braking system.The Innotruck gets an all-electric power-train. there’s no steering wheel, instead the Innotruck gets two joystick controls.
There’s a place to grab some food. This Innotruck’s utilities are a little more sophisticated than your average truck .There’s a full-size kitchen , complete with an LCD TV. We’re not sure this would feature if the Innotruck made it to production though, given its impact on load space.
